What We Know
Here at CAS, we know that many accounting firms are interested in offering advisory services to their clients, not only to help them as much as possible but also to provide a means for growth in the firm. However, many accountants struggle to plan and implement these services effectively.
So far, 25% of accounting firms told us that they would like advisory fees to represent 50% of their total fees in the next 3 years. What % would make a big difference in your firm and total fees earned?
What We Want to Learn
We are conducting this survey to learn more about the types of advisory services you offer, how you provide them, and the challenges you face in delivering them. We are also interested in finding out how important growth in advisory fees is to your firm’s future.
Surprisingly, over 50% of firms we have asked so far told us that they do not have a proper plan to grow their advisory fees. We hear that firms want advisory work to be a big part of the total fees earned but without a proper plan in place to grow advisory fees, how can this be achieved? Does your firm have a plan?

Your participation will help us develop a better understanding of the advisory services landscape for accountants. This, in turn, will help us to develop our product to help you more. Over half of the firms we have already spoken to told us that strategic and business planning (including succession and exit) forms part of the Primary Advisory Services that they offer.
